Chairman's, Vice Chancellor’s Message

Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Centarl university of jammu

It is a matter of satisfaction that Kendriya Vidhayala, Central University of Jammu is steadily treading the path of imparting quality and holistic education to the children of employees of University as well as those residing in the vicinity of campus.

Education in the 21st century is multifaceted and multi-dimensional. In the present digital age, agility and interactivity are the buzz words. Therefore, it is imperative for educational institutions to keep pace with the advancements and at the same time develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.

We live in an era where the wealth of data and the exponential growth in the development of new knowledge is another challenge. Here the role and responsibility of the teacher increases manifold who, besides being a fountainhead of knowledge has to a facilitator also. As one of the proponents of literary and cultural revival in Ireland, W B Yeats has said, “Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire”. Therefore, a teacher has to keep the flame of curiosity and spirit of innovation alive in students.

The ubiquity of digital technology in all realms of life poses a serious threat to student community, who are prone to distractions. Therefore, a great deal of discipline and focus is expected from students so that they are benefitted from the vision and mission of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan  for holistic development of students.

I’m confident that with the commitment of Kendriya Vidhalaya and Central University, Rahya-Suchani will emerge as an educational hub in a couple of years.

My best wishes
